Rush is old school now compared to Savage

Rush seems to be turning into the aging old jolly gentleman of talk radio compared to Savage.  Personally, I enjoy listening to Rush a lot more than I do Savage.  Mike Savage comes across as an angry lunatic half the time with his biased interpretations of history and his occasional Bible thumping and his war cries.  Although I do enjoy his Randy Rhodesque comments like “this topic gives me dyspepsia.” Not to mention his dated commie pinko rampages and his riotous “liberalism is mental disorder” slogan.  The thing I enjoy about Rush is that he wants to engage in debate.  He gets really annoyed that liberals don’t listen to his show (I do!)  but Savage is simply way too polarizing and I’m not sure he wants a debate.  He is right, just that.  Hmm, sounds familiar.  Some of my fellow liberals hear that I listen to am radio and they eye me suspiciously like I’m some kind of traitor.  No, just listening.  Nothing wrong with listening and engaging in debate.  Isn’t that what this country is about?

Are you really a liberal? If so, it doesn’t really show. I’ll admit, I just assumed you would be- I don’t know too many people from OR, but the ones I do definitley lean left. You seem pretty open-minded and definitely informed on the issues.

As for Savage, his game is more schtick than anything. He’s the equivalent of a conservative shock jock. There’s an audience out there for that, just as there is for a guy like Al Franken. I would always chose to listen to the guy that says here are the facts, debate me otherwise, than the guy who is basically a character assassin. There is no debate with that guy. And you’re right right, there’s nothing wrong with debate, it makes this country great.

Shh, don’t tell anyone I’m a dirty rotten liberal!
Thanks for your comment. I like to think I’m open minded and informed. I’m trying to stay away from using labels on my new blog. I find that people just want to find out if your left or right so they know how to respond to you without even considering what you say…

lol- I’ll keep that between you, me, and everyone else that reads your blog.

I actually enjoy your blog and your comments on mine. Maybe it’s bc you make honest, well-thought out points…. maybe its bc you’re the only liberal that doesn’t try to crush me. lol

I can’t get into a Savage or an Anne Coulture bc then I feel hypocritical for ripping on a Franken or Michael Moore.

If you can do it, you’re a better person than I. I try myself to keep away from labeling but sometimes I just can’t help it.
